JAYDEN PERRON NAMED FORWARD OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

University of North Dakota commit recorded seven points in two games

GENEVA, ILLINOIS— After passing the 100th career point benchmark this past weekend, forward Jayden Perron has been named USHL Forward of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.

Perron registered seven points (1G, 6A) in two games this past weekend against the Madison Capitols, recording three assists on Saturday, March 4 and four points (1G, 3A) on Sunday, March 5.  It was his fourth time this season with three or more assists.

Perron notched the game-winning goal in Sunday's 6-4 victory over the Capitols as Chicago swept the weekend series with Madison.

It is the second time this season that the University of North Dakota commit and 2023 NHL Draft prospect has earned the weekly honor.  Perron was named Forward of the Week following a five-point weekend (2G, 3A) Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 against USA Hockey NTDP U17.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native is currently tied for second in the USHL in points with teammate Jack Harvey with 59 (20G, 39A).  In his last 13 games played, Perron has 25 points (5G, 20A).

"Jayden is an incredibly creative and deceptive player," said Steel Head Coach and General Manager Mike Garman.  "He generates for himself and his teammates using his elite edges and diverse skill set.

"He has a relentless pursuit to get the puck back and keeps adding layers to his game away from the puck. He's a player that just keeps getting better and better."

Perron is one of six Steel players to earn USHL weekly honors along with teammates Macklin Celebrini (4x), Michael Emerson, Jack Harvey, Nick Moldenhauer and Jack Stark.
