About the Steel
The Steel roster is comprised of the next generation of NCAA and NHL talent. Players are aged 16-20 and participate in the best amateur hockey league in the world, the United States Hockey League (USHL). Over 96% of USHL players receive NCAA Division 1 opportunities. Players live with host families, known as billets, during their time in Chicagoland.  Since 2000, 70 players with Steel ties have been selected in the NHL Draft, including the #1 overall pick in 2021 (Owen Power) and 2024 (Macklin Celebrini). Nearly 500 Steel players have earned NCAA commitments since 2000, with four Steel alumni winning the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award given to the top college hockey player, including Adam Fantilli in 2023 and Macklin Celebrini in 2024.

About the USHL
The United States Hockey League, or USHL, is the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league. Players range from 16-20 years of age and are recruited from North America and all over the world to fill the rosters on 16 teams nationwide. The USHL had 44 players selected in the 2026 NHL Draft and more than 300 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world's foremost producer of junior hockey talent. The USHL consists of 16 teams, split into a Western Conference and Eastern Conference. The Steel are one of eight teams in the Eastern Conference.

Accessible Seating
Accessible seating and companion seating is available at both sides of USG Arena. Options include Section 1, Section 5 and Section 8. Call 855-51-STEEL for questions regarding accessible seating.

Arena Address
The Steel play and practice at USG Arena located inside Blackhawks Ice Center presented by Fifth Third Bank.  Blackhawks Ice Center is located at 1801 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60612.

Bag Policy
Guests may enter the arena with a small purse or personal bag up to 10" x 6" x 2" in size. Backpacks are prohibited. Limited exceptions for medical or diaper bags will be allowed.

Cashless Payments
Blackhawks Ice Center is a cashless venue. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and credit/debit cards are accepted.

Elevators
Elevators are located just inside the south entrance and near the east entrance between Rink 1 and Rink 2.

First Aid
First aid is available for any fan needing assistance during the game. Visit Guest Services or speak with a staff member if you are in need of medical assistance.

Guest Services
Steel Guest Services is located in the main lobby inside the north entrance. Guest Services staff are available to answer any questions that you may have during your visit to Blackhawks Ice Center.

Noisemakers
Noisemakers such as air horns and whistles are not permitted inside Blackhawks Ice Center.

Seating
All seats at USG Arena are reserved, with 95% of the seating bowl being stadium seating. Tickets feature many different price points and views of the action available to meet your needs. Click here to view ticketing options., opens in new tab

Smoking
Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted inside Blackhawks Ice Center.

Strollers
Strollers are permitted inside Blackhawks Ice Center, but please be advised that most seating locations need to be accessed by stairs.

Wi-Fi
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at Blackhawks Ice Center. Connect to the @Blackhawks network to get online.

Parking at Blackhawks Ice Center is complimentary in the main parking lot. Accessible parking is available. There is also free parking on surrounding streets including W. Jackson Blvd. and W. Van Buren St., though all guests are advised to obey all parking signs.

Public Transportation
Blackhawks Ice Center is easily accessible by the CTA Blue Line.  The closest station is the Illinois Medical District station.

Dining Options
Fans are invited to visit Rocky’s Table and Tap (2nd Floor) and Raise the Cup Cafe (1st Floor) while visiting Blackhawks Ice Center. In partnership with One Off Hospitality, each location offers elevated culinary options that exceed typical concessions fare. Outside Food And Beverage
Outside food and beverage is prohibited from being brought into Blackhawks Ice Center. Alcoholic beverages may only be purchased and consumed inside the facility.

Children
Children under 36" do not need a ticket but must remain on the lap of an adult. One child per lap.

Press Inquiries
To request media credentials with the Steel, contact Calvin Bush via email at media@chicagosteelhockeyteam.com no later than two business days before the desired game. Credentials will be available for pickup before game time at USG Arena inside Blackhawks Ice Center.

Autographs
Two Steel players will sign autographs on the second floor near Rocky's Table & Tap following most home games.  In addition, check the promotional schedule for full-team autograph sessions during the year.

Skate with the Steel
On select dates throughout the season, fans can take the ice for Post-Game Skate with the Steel. Fans can bring their own skates to the game or rent them from Blackhawks Ice Center. Wristbands for participants who need to rent skates will be available for sale throughout the game. Participants who bring their own skates will receive a wristband following the conclusion of the game from a Steel staff member prior to hitting the ice.

Videoboard and Ribbon Boards
The USG Arena videoboard features live game footage during play, replays, recorded video segments, movie clips and more!

Warmups
Team warmups take place approximately 30 minutes prior to puck drop.
