 The Chicago Steel will relocate to the west side of Chicago and begin play in the new Championship Arena at Fifth Third Arena starting in the 2026-2027 season.

When will the Steel play their last game at Fox Valley Ice Arena? 
The Steel will play the entire 2025-2026 season at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva. 

 

What is Fifth Third Arena and where is it located? 
Fifth Third Arena will serve as the premier sports and entertainment destination, the epicenter for Midwest hockey and home to unforgettable experiences that go beyond the ice. It is located at 1801 W. Jackson Blvd. in Chicago and serves as the Chicago Blackhawks official training home. 

How many ice sheets will be at Fifth Third Arena and which one will the Steel play and practice on? 
Once the expansion is completed, there will be four ice sheets at Fifth Third Arena.  The Steel will play and practice on the Championship Arena at Fifth Third Arena, located on the west side of the facility. 

 

When will the Fifth Third Arena expansion be completed?
Construction is currently underway at Fifth Third Arena with the expansion set to open in January 2026. 

 

When will the Steel relocate to Fifth Third Arena?
The Steel will relocate in the summer of 2026 following the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season which will be played in its entirety at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva. 

 

Will current Steel season ticket holders have seat selection priority at Fifth Third Arena? 
Yes.  Current Steel season ticket and mini-plan holders will receive priority to select their seat location at Fifth Third Arena.  Information will be sent to Steel season ticket holders in early 2026 with ticket pricing and priority procedures for seat selection. 
 
When will ticket pricing be released for the Steel at Fifth Third Arena and when will tickets go on sale? 

Ticket pricing and information will be released in early 2026, and season ticket plans will go on sale then, starting with existing Steel season ticket holders. 

 

What should I do if I'm not an existing Steel season ticket holder but I'm interested in ticket information? 
Please join the ticket interest list by filling out the form located here.  There is no deposit required at this time to join the ticket interest list. 

 

Will the Steel continue to offer group experiences such as the Youth Hockey Experience, birthday packages, presentation of colors, and national anthem performances? 
Yes.  The Steel intend to offer similar experiences at their new home. 

 

What will parking be like on game days at Fifth Third Arena?
The Fifth Third Arena expansion includes additional parking, and there are several parking options within a five minute walk of the venue. 

 

Can fans take public transportation to games at Fifth Third Arena?
Fifth Third Arena is easily accessible by the CTA Blue Line.  The closest station is the Illinois Medical District station. 

 

What will the seating be like at the Championship Arena at Fifth Third Arena? 
Over 95% of the seating bowl will be stadium seating with several rows reserved for benches as well as accessible seating areas and party decks. 

 

Will accessible seating be available? 
Yes.  There will be accessible seating options in the Championship Arena.  

 

Will there be premium seating areas at the Championship Arena? 
Yes.  There are party decks on the north and south sides of the arena. 

 

What other activities will take place at Fifth Third Arena? 

  • Fifth Third Arena is a dynamic, multi-purpose facility capable of hosting events on and off the ice. It's the official training facility of the Chicago Blackhawks, home of the Chicago Steel and a regional destination for amateur and youth hockey. Off the ice, it's a versatile facility able to transform to accommodate a wide variety of events and serves as a community resource for all of Chicago.

What amenities will exist at Fifth Third Arena? 

  • CHAMPIONSHIP ARENA is one of the two new rinks, offering stadium-style seating and hospitality areas for 2,000 spectators. As the future new home of the Chicago Steel, Championship Arena offers a state-of-the-art center scoreboard, video ribbon boards and exclusive party decks for an elevated fan experience. Premium locker room amenities, free parking and quality food and drink options enhance the visitor experience, making it a top choice for major ice sport events across collegiate and elite hockey. The addition of Championship Arena is set to more than double guest attendance to Fifth Third Arena annually.  

  • CENTENNIAL HALL celebrates 100 years of Chicago Blackhawks history and will be the permanent physical home to the recently-announced Blackhawks Hall of Fame. Opening during the team's Centennial celebration in 2025-26, this interactive exhibit showcases the franchise's legacy through historic displays that connect fans of all ages with the team's story. Centennial Hall will serve as a year-round destination for fans to experience the Blackhawks, whether visiting on game days or during the offseason. The Blackhawks Hall of Fame is set to become the franchise's defining institution for honoring the extraordinary players and builders who have shaped our century-long legacy – with a fan vote open now to help determine the inaugural class of Hall of Famers. 

  • WALK OF FAME – Honoring the milestone moments and legendary players of the Chicago Blackhawks, this commemorative sidewalk along Jackson Street will feature engraved plaques celebrating the franchise's six Stanley Cup winning teams and its Hall of Fame inductees.  Dedicated spaces will also be reserved for future champions and honorees, ensuring the legacy continues to grow.   

  • ROCKY'S BAR – a tribute to late Chairman Rocky Wirtz and a fan-favorite from the United Center – Rocky's Bar will anchor the venue's food and beverage experience.   • THE FAÇADE showcases the completed Fifth Third Arena located at 1801 W. Jackson Boulevard. Proud partners of the Chicago Blackhawks for over a decade, Fifth Third Bank will remain the naming rights sponsor of the Arena.  
     

Can fans expect theme nights, promotions and giveaways like the team currently has? 
Yes.  The Steel intend to take fan-favorite theme nights, in-game promotions and other events and will look to enhance them at their new home. 

 

Will the Steel have their own locker room facilities at Fifth Third Arena? 
Yes, the Steel will have their own hockey operations facilities located on the north side of the Championship Arena.  The team space includes brand new locker rooms, dry lockers, athletic training room with cold/hot tubs, equipment/laundry facilities, coaches offices and a player lounge. 

 

What other areas of the facility will the Steel utilize? 
While the Steel will have their own brand new hockey operations area, they will utilize other facility amenities including the gym for off-ice training and the off-ice skills studio.  

 

When will the Steel hold their Tryout/Development Camp at Fifth Third Arena?
The Steel will hold their first Tryout/Development Camp at Fifth Third Arena in 2026.  

 

Where will Steel players live when the team relocates?
