Notes:
  • In their first preseason action of 2025-2026, the Chicago Steel fell to the Dubuque Fighting Saints 6-1 at ImOn Arena Friday night…Rookie forward Nate Chorlton scored the lone Steel goal four minutes into the opening period before Dubuque scored six unanswered goals including three third-period tallies.
  • Colorado College commit Nate Chorlton scored early in the first period. The rookie forward appeared in three games for the Steel in the 2024-2025 season and boasted a +2 rating.
  • Cornell commit Cole Tuminaro and Massachusetts-Lowell commit Aidan Dyer each recorded an assist on Chorlton's goal. Dyer had the sixth-most assists for the Steel during the 2024-2025 season. Friday was Tuminaro's first game in almost a calendar year after suffering an injury and missing most of the 2024-2025 season with Sioux City.
  • Wesley Jefferson-Swint II and Mitchell McCusker split time in goal. Swint II started the game and made nine saves, while McCusker finished the outing and stopped 11 shots.
  • The Steel will play their first preseason home game against Dubuque on Saturday, September 6 at 7:05 pm CT.
  • Next weekend, Chicago will close out the preseason with a home-and-home series with Muskegon.
  • The regular season will begin Thursday, September 18 vs. Sioux Falls at the USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA.
