Chicago Steel Postgame Notes – September 19, 2025 vs. Omaha Lancers

• The Chicago Steel defeated the Omaha Lancers 4-1 in the team's DICK's Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic finale Friday night at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex…Luke Goukler scored three goals to lead the Steel to victory and rookie forward Miles Burgin scored for the second consecutive game…Burgin opened the scoring in the first period to put the Steel ahead…Omaha followed with a score to tie the game, but a natural hat trick from Luke Goukler sealed the Chicago win… It's the first time the Steel have gone undefeated at the Fall Classic since the 2022-2023 season when they defeated Fargo 3-1 and Sioux City 7-4.
• Merrimack commit Luke Goukler scored the final three goals of the game to tally his first  hat trick. He scored 12 goals for the Steel last season.
• Sam Caulfield made 18 saves in net to secure the win in his Steel debut.
• Rookie forward Miles Burgin scored the first Steel goal for the second straight game.
• Boston University commit James Scantlebury and Ohio State commit Jackson Crowder each potted two assists.
• Cornell commit Henry Major, Cornell commit Cole Tuminaro, and Eero Hyytainen each recorded an assist.
• The Steel will return home and host their first regular season home game on Opening Night against Madison on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 6:05 pm CT with a Magnet Schedule Giveaway for the first 500 fans and a Post-Game Skate with the Steel.
