  • The Chicago Steel fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks 9-3 at Fox Valley Ice Arena Friday night in their first preseason game …Muskegon was backed by a four-point effort (1G-3A) by Isac Nielsen…Muskegon scored six unanswered goals before the Steel notched their first score…The Lumberjacks scored five goals in the second period…Chicago outscored Muskegon 2-1 in the third frame.
  • Aidan Dyer scored two goals and an assist to lead the Steel in scoring.
  • Boston College commit Teddy Mutryn recorded a goal and two assists. Merrimack commit Luke Goukler, Cornell commit Henry Major, and UConn commit Shayne Gould each potted an assist.
  • Goaltender Andrew Saxe made 29 saves in defeat.
  • The Steel will take on Muskegon again at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Saturday, September 7 at 7:05 pm CT in the second of four preseason games for Chicago.
  • The regular season will begin Friday, September 20 vs. Des Moines at the USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA.
