Rough Road Trip for Chicago
Bensenville, IL (November 21, 2009) -
Chicago’s road woes continued Saturday with a 4-0
shutout at the hands of the Indiana Ice.
The Chicago Steel are now winless in their last five
road games dating back to Halloween night when the Steel
knocked off the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 6-5.
The first period proved uneventful until Forward Brian
Ferlin beat Steel Goalie Nick Pisellini (Western
Michigan) top shelf, 1-0 Ice.
Offensively, the Steel could only manage seven shots on
goal through the first, and, would only get 19 more in
the contest
Nick Bailen and Max Cook drew it out to 3-0 in the 2nd
period. Cook’s goal came on a short hander following a
holding penalty by Billy Fitzgerald.
Ice Forward Bryon Paulazzo closed out the scoring for
the Ice with a goal at the 12:14 mark.
The 4-0 loss by the Steel drops their overall record to
(9-6-2), good for second in the Eastern division, a
point behind division leading Green Bay who has 21.
Chicago
can make up that ground this Wednesday November 25th
when the two meet in Green Bay.
The Steel then return home that weekend with games
against Team USA on Friday November 27th
followed by a rematch with Green Bay Saturday November
28th.
